Hot New UK Releases: 22nd January 2007

I haven't done my weekly Hot Releases feature since the start of the year because, quite frankly there haven't been any. Like most industries, the first quarter of every year and sepecially the month of January is normally very poor in sales and so record execs get really nervous about releasing any new material. Since the start of the year they have just been putting out compilation after compilation and nothing much else.

The only album of note out tomorrow is Pretty Ricky's Late Night Special

Its an album written and produced almost enirely by the group and features their new hot single On the Hotline and the sensual Sticky & Slow. The album reflects the groups growth and maturity and showcases their diversity and versatility. Now, I'm not a big fan of these guys but I think for a second album they have really done well and should gain a wider fan base with the album.
